Who We Are

I believe that The Mary Tyler Moore Show was one the best television series on American television in the ’70s.

What do you think her autobiography would have read if she had, in fact, written one?  Probably something empowering and inspiring.  I did an interview with a professor on campus a few months ago. This professor reminded me of Mary Tyler Moore so much – not just in what she had to say but also in her physical appearance.  Maybe people not only look like their doppelgängers, they act like them, too.

Mac Wilson on The Current

During all of 2008, I could count on Mac Wilson edifying all of my musical needs and wants every morning, Central Eastern Time, via mpr.org, the web site of Minneapolis Public Radio.  He was a reliable disc jockey for The Current, hitting all of my tastes to a tee.  I felt like we had a relationship.

Then, come mid-2009, he disappears. What time slot did he move to?  The new chic that moved in plays too much retro stuff and not enough MontrĂ©al-based tracks.

I decided to research it, and a profile on MPR’s site proves that he still exists.  But – not where or how – but when can I find him?

In other Minneapolis-related news, TimeOut Chicago decided to feature Minneapolis in this month’s issue of their magazine.  Finally!  I am not the only Chicagoan to have gone to have seen the light.

In other news: Blitzen Trapper and Nada Surf have come out with new albums today.
