Peter and I went to the most awesome of awesome independent movie theatres today. Also explored and enjoyed the area just south of here. There are second-hand stores! Who knew? There are also tiny cafés everywhere. Apparently there is a big tie between the Universiteit Leiden and Iowa. We walked past an apartment that displayed a sign supporting Clinton and something about Iowans for a better America. Craziness. All of the houses in Leiden are upscale and well designed, both inside and out. I know this because Dutch windows are large and usually aren’t meant to be covered up. It’s easy to look in!!
Also, had hot chocolate earlier with Sina, Kathrin and two other girls in the grad program. Hot chocolate is pretty popular in the Netherlands.
